It’s Spring, and Wine Down Fridays are back at Stony Mountain Vineyards! The first one of the year will feature live music by Dustin Curlee, food from Trixi’s Mexican Street Food Truck, and plenty of Stony Mountain Vineyards Wine as well as a great selection of craft beer. Come celebrate and bring your friends!

Press Out Day at Stony Mountain Vineyards

Press Out Day at the winery –

One ton each of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

The grapes in these vats have been crushed and fermented. The next step is Pressing, which removes the solids from the wine.

The grapes are shoveled into the Wine Press, where an inflatable bladder squeezes all the remaining wine from the grapes.

After pressing, all of the flavor has been literally squeezed out of the grapes. They resemble raisins, but are actually tasteless.

The wine is now ready to be aged. After initial clarifying in stainless steel containers, the wine will be transferred to oak barrels for aging, where it will remain for at least two years.

Wine Down Friday Halloween Party!

We hope you’ll join us for some ghoulishly good fun at Stony Mountain Vineyards, on October 29th, as we celebrate the season with our Wine Down Friday Halloween Party! We’ll have food from the Hotdiggity Dog Food Truck, music from DJ Chris Hudson, Prize Drawings, and a Costume Contest, so be sure to look your worst! The fun starts at 6. $5 cover charge.
